question 2

From the start of our opening sequence we introduced our main character the ‘ninja child’ from the very beginning, we show him by himself to influence his loneliness and show him to be an outcast we anted to project him to be an outcast from the very start of the story and give the viewers an idea to show him being on a quest (challenge), we wanted them to question him and to be intrigued; we also wanted to portray hi immaturity from and childishness fro the ninja costume. In the full story we include a lot such his parents who hardly pay attention to him and his school life to show him to be bullied and very reserved to him.

We wanted to relate him to the lead character from kick ass this is because they are both on believe full heartedly in their fantasy’s and are both more involved in their fantasy’s than the actions that actually go on in reality. We compared him to Jayden smith from the new Karate kid film this was done as they were both bullied and outcastes by peers in school and strengthen themselves through the belief in their own ability by which target and defeat their bullies. I personally related the our character to the anime Naruto, this was done as they both live a very similar lifestyle they both have no parents to turn to in times of trouble, both thrown out by people of similar age and looked down on as monsters and have their thoughts to burden their thoughts and have set a challenge for themselves to be someone.

Our main character lives his saddened life of bullying and disrespect as he lives the way he of a ninja he knows this can’t be taken lightly this is why he has set himself on the challenge to defeat evil and punish all wrong doers with the taste of his plastic sword. Our focal target when making the film was boys this was done by the creating a story line which is filled with humour and things common to their interest such as ninja’s, by making a ninja film we link our story to a majority of their fantasy’s as that’s marginally what children of that age tend to do.

We used a youth from barking abbey in year 9 called Ryan Williams by using Ryan we were able to achieve the reasonable age as Ryan was about 13 which was the perfect age we wanted but Ryan was a bit too tall for part but we were able to portray that very well due to the varied amount of camera shots taken. For the business man we used Mr Cohen the age boundary for his was fairly unnecessary as all we needed him to do was run and look shocked we watched ‘Jackie Brown’ this gave as a idea of using a sense of urgency for the business man only to be caught surprised by ninja child.

In our film we wanted to represent our character as someone who wants to make a change from being really low in his social groups to a very high valued male, he wants to be more than what he’s seen as, with his braces which people normally describe or see as a geekish nerdish feature. When creating our character we wanted to present him as this immature young male picked on by his peers as to living in a fantasy world which he never seems to leave. We show our character to be very formal and sophisticated unlike his other peers.

We wanted to show a lot of detail in each shot produced we wanted all our shots to be varied by making a variety of shots we would allow the viewers to make a prediction as to what the story would be about. We used every body movement steadily and casually to show the calmness in the heart of the ninja child but wanted to portray a fire in his eyes and the immaturity of his costume this was all done through mise en scene and the clothing and props he had on. The lightening used was done in a natural environment so we had no control over lightening.

In conclusion the ninja child was very representative of his social group this was done as due to good props to show his immaturity but we had a good use of body language and facial experience to show his passion and charisma
